AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Cool is cool!

Maybe this pic should have been yesterday's pic, but I feel there is a hush in the early morning sunlight this morning, after the billowing heat. So this pic is symbolic of a feeling!

Like a recent quote suggests, if we didn't have all the fickle ploys of the weather, I am sure conversation would be reduced by 50%, at least! So, my weather update is that yesterday was not so hot, but there was a stormy wind blustering around Victoria. My house shivered with several gusts!

Spent most of yesterday with a new topic for HubPages, called Funny, Weird and Wacky "kingdoms" in Australia. I totally love odd reality! Especially admire those who carve out their own reality from nothing and then live it! This page is a tribute to those with alternative dreams and lifestyles! If you want a micronation of your own in your home, it is not impossible, though there are some cautionary hints! Check out the stories! Apparently, per capita, Australia has the largest number of micronations in the world. Every state is represented, but the two territories are not. I wonder about the Northern Territory, though. Surely the aboriginal community of Utopia there must rank as a micronation.

Deck Chair
Pillowed reverie
Distant murmurs
Of white powder clouds
On pale blue canvas
Fill the lens
Arms languish
In peace
On your earth
Bare feet
Resting
Limply
In the
Hollows
Of your shoes
