AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

The Enigma of Windows

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Windows of Living
~
One Single Impression prompt ~ Through a Window
~

At first glance
Windows are just
Necessities for
Enhancing living
In closed spaces with
Natural
Free
Outside
Light
~
The physical window is designed to reflect
Lifestyles
Cultures or
Beliefs
And yet
A window is far more than
A functional art form
~
Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Windows of Inner Life
~
For the inner life
Windows are symbols for insights into
Knowledge
Wisdom
Dreams
Maybe visions
~
These windows are many
Of varying sizes
On various levels
Like a glass skyscraper
Never quite complete
Always building
Growing
Moving with the times
~
But these windows are
Foggy
Blurred
Opaque
Unless
Spiritual serenity
Laced with wisdom
Breathes the glass clear
~
The light does not come to this window
From the outside
But the inside
~

You begin with light that is natural, free, and outside, but with growth and shaping, and influences that change, the window of light comes from within ...I really like this. Lovely.

Nicely done. I like the progression from physical to spiritual, real to symbolic. Nice collages too.

I like the concept of a window where the light comes from the inside-excellent!

Love those last three lines, both what they say and how they are written.

Great use of symbolism - the light truly comes from within. ;)

I like that serenity can clear the glass. Great pics of all the windows.
