AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Wooden Teepee

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Entrance to Point Leo beach
~
Odd Shot Monday prompt
~

I am like a wooden teepee
Constantly manned in the summer weather
To ensure you pay for
Parking by the sea
~
But in the winter time
I am left to
My own devices
~
As you can see
I am ready for
All seasons ~
(Good protection
Good airflow
Good window on the world) ~
Including Christmas ~
For my greetings are
Always as close as
The flick of a switch
~
I have a rather jaunty
Feather in my teepee cap
(Translate as a stick)
With lots of loopy
String/rope attached
Why?
Ummm
I can't remember
It'll come to me some day
~
Finally
I am a bit of an unknown soldier ~
I have no name
No sign
After all these years
You would never know
I am part of the
Welcome to Point Leo
~

I laughed as I read your poeml, scrolling back and forth to the picture above... I truly loved this!
It brought me back to the days of the Drive-in movie theaters. Earlier today My sister and I were talking on the phone and she mentioned that the last remaining Drive-in our hometown was closing soon.
I actually thought of writing a blog post about soon... in many ways your wooden teepee is like an aging drive-in marquee, announcing coming features, never to come.

That is an odd indeterminate sort fo structure... yes, definitely odd.

What an odd structure, and we get so accustomed to odd architecture that we see often that we forget that it is odd.
