I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

So creative! That's the kind of mailbox I would like to have. Great capture.

That is just the cutest lil' thing...here in Iowa, it would be filled with rain/snow and spideys.

Cleaver though and looks like it has some age to it, even more interesting.

Great picture! The mailbox has character, and I like character. However, I can not have one. The kids in the neighborhood would red my mail. thanks for sharing.

Cool mailbox and nice poem. Doesn't look very weather-proof, though.

I salute the mind behind the creation of this conspicuous design for a mailbox.

I salute you, Gemma, for noticing.

I salute you for weaving such lovely thoughts to compliment this unusual find with your precious poem.

I wish you well.
