AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Paradox of Windows

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A window on a cafe world at Mornington
~
One Single Impression prompt #37 ~ Paradox
~

Looking from the outside to inner realms ~
The paradox of a window on reality is
The window holds one reality
Inside
And returns the other reality
Outside
~
Sometimes
The outer reality
Blinds
Erases
The inner one
Even though
We know
Somewhere
It is there
~
Looking from the inside to outer realms ~
There is a sense of
A cut
Edited
Film strip ~
Framed reality
~
And yet
From certain perspectives
The window on reality
Holds
Transposes
Fragmented illusions of both
Together
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Same window, another version of inner and outer realities
~
NOTE: The essence of a paradox is when there is a tension between two opposite concepts, which are never uniquely complete but create the illusion of co-existence and generate the belief in a whole new bristly meaning.

This is a paradox I especially enjoy - I love reflections, glass, water, anything! You wrote about it beautifullly.

Gemma, you have very nicely stated the paradox here.
And the real winner is? The inside reality is actuality, the outside reality is mearly a reflection. Yes, sometimes one will block out the other completely (a mirror)(a very bright light inside).
Did you ever wonder what was behind a mirror?
