Dragon Tamed by Cockatoos

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ The dragon on my verandah is getting the spotlight this week.
Here, wild cockatoos appear to enjoy his company.
In reality, they seem to think some sunflower seeds are hidden around somewhere.

Cockatoos are an exotic pet bird in my part of the world, so this post is extra fascinating!

I was sitting in the studio grooming a dog this morning and happened to glance out the window to my left and there was a little female humming bird staring back at me up against the window pane. I had just filled the feeders, so maybe this was a thank you glance. Not nearly as exotic as the cockatoo, but it means spring is finally here, so I'll revel in the wee creatures antics outside my window.

I spent the rest of the day working in my gardens in the finally warm heat of the day...it was glorious...I can hear the frogs out my front door in the water in the ditches, boy do they lull ya to sleep. Better go test my theory...goodnight friend!

We have turquoise rollers in our garden, but I wouldn't mind a pair of cockotoos either! They're beautiful!

I have collected stamps since I was little and have old ones from Victoria but never have considered seeing it. I've been to Australia once. It was incredible but never came near your spot. I haven't seen anyone but as much heart into a blog as you have. Thamnks for sharing.

I have a healthy respect for those beaks. I hope the dragon can hold up under the assault.

I still think it's amazing that these birds are wild where you live. Just amazing! Great shot too. :-)

These birds look harmless - however, they are showing us their rough side, swarming upon the dragon with a singular sense of purpose...

I can imagine seeing wild cockatoos; it must be amazing. I got a bunch of sparrows I'll trade you for. Beautiful sepia shot.

Wild cockatoos! What a treat! I would imagine that they would behave just like their domestic counterparts, leaving little "presents" around that poor dragon.
