AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Intersecting Journeys

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ On a school excursion into Melbourne from Cranbourne, I took this photo at an intersection.
The close-up looks like chaos.
Many simultaneous decisions were happening.
But everyone was travelling in quiet order.

One Single Impression #67 ~ Intersections
~

To stop or to go
Inevitable cross roads
Perhaps make a turn
~
Regimented lights
Moving and slowing traffic
Lights create order
~
Journeys mean purpose
Intersections mean choices
Aim for the right lights

Knowing which lights to aim for in life can be a daunting task but, very rewarding. Love that last haiku. Your top picture does resemble chaos, a wreck waiting to happen. Glad to hear it was moving in quiet order. Have a nice day.

In that first photo the traffic looks seriously confusing and traffic is definitely on the wrong side of the road for me which makes it look even worse. :-D

That traffic seems very tame when compared with Rome's...
Decisions, which is life is all about.

i love these rainy shots - this year, we got a few good days of rain, but they are never frequent in greece. now it's summer, and we wont see any rain for the next few months.

Photos in reality or photo images can seem to be confusing when things are actually in order in the mind of some observers.

Thoughtful poem.

Traffic is organized chaos! I moved from a large city to a small city because of all the traffic and the much too fast pace. Then I had to move again 14 years later for the same reason. Life is far too busy for me in big cities. I don't know why people choose to do it! Now I wonder how soon I will have to move again.

Nice subject choice for this prompt. I am often surprised at how folks stay in the lines and journey so at such high speeds safely.

Your blogs music is wonderful.

Your intersections do give choices, and opportunities.
Chaos? There is chaos in most of the very large cities and even some of the smaller cities in the developing countries.
A law of large numbers says that when things get too large they get out of control (chaos). Examples are Rome, Cairo, Mexico City, and Juarez (Mexico) that I can think of right away. Some of those don't even paint lines in the streets, rather as many cars as can fit in make up the 'lanes.'

Order rests within that chaos. Nice work, as always.
