Hello sweet friend...you know, the pelican is one of my favorite birds. I used to sit on the beach in Florida watching them for hours. We never used to have them in Iowa when I was growing up, but they are everywhere now, as well as the gulls...so I can delight in them on my own frigid turf, though I'd rather view them in the warm currents of Florida...although they are having a freeze there right now, it won't last.
Hope you are enjoying your summer down under, we are all dreaming of spring here in the states. As you can see from our pictures of the frozen tundras, little to be desired about them other than the views...too cold to go outside, your nose freezes shut...ha!
Been having computer issues of late, but I guess everyone has been having them...so we plod along, longing for the words of our pen-pals abroad...have a wonderful Sunday dear friend...
frosty smooches for Iowa...and a big ol' hug!

...I mean FROM Iowa...semi-old fingers don't move so fast these days...ha!
Marvelous shadow shots today -- as always, Gemma, and your words make it perfect! Love the pelican and the seagulls enjoying the sun! I would, too!! Have a great weekend, enjoy your warm weather!
Sylvia
Great shadows!
That pelican leaves a wonderful shadow. I love how these birds make a fast div into the water to capture a fish dinner in their pouch below the bill. Nothing personal against seagulls, but the pelican leaves an upright and elegant shadow. Lovely!
Great shadows left by beautiful pelicans. I love these birds!
I adore pelicans. Great picture, thank you!
(Here from Stoney Moss.)
I have such a soft spot for these birds of the sea. Both pelicans and cheeky seagulls. So much so that I feel a little sad if I don't see a pelican when I visit the beach. I've yet to ever NOT see a seagull when visiting the beach! A sweet photo Gemma!
the gulls look so small
which makes the photo even more endearing
