Shadows of a Strange House

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A rather unusual house at Safety Beach, Mornington Peninsula
It seems incomplete.
What appears to be the front door drops away to grass level.
And the girders seem to be shaping what may be a front verandah some day.
At least the whole structure creates some great shadow patterns!

This is definitely a most unusual house. But like you, I find the shadows fascinating.

Yeah, that 1st step could be a lulu...too funny, but I won't say too much, after all I do live in a pink house...in Iowa...ha!

Well, things have finally come to a head and we are on the home stretch, one more load of odds n ends and we are FINISHED...YAYYYYY!!! Piper is not as acclimated to moving as I am, so this was a real strain on her bod...I think I'm just too stupid to know any better...Ha! But the shop looks wonderful and I think she will be open tomorrow while she is putting away the tons of junk we dragged in.

This is a totally new venture for us being in a mall, but it's kind of exciting because more and more people are showing interest in moving out there...and others are thrilled at the fact that the mall may come back to life...we certainly hope so, we bet the ranch on it!!!

Now I can concentrate on my porch swing and a bottle o beer, contemplating my next move(not literally)...I want to get my greenhouse built and my lil' chicken coop, I so miss the sound of a rooster crowing in the morning. Lots of fresh eggs from free range chickens eating every nasty bug in my yard.

Summer in the Midwest is such a magical time of year, so many changes going on everywhere and so much to do before winter is upon us again...I hope the weather is treating you good and not too cold coming off the ocean. Hopefully now I'll have more time to visit and I hope you too are not running yourself too ragged with your students, but you sound like you're having fun...and that's all that matters!!!

Have a wonderful week dear friend and I'll be back soon...hugs O bunch!!!

There does seem to be an incongruity in the various architectural styling pieces on the abode. I wouldn't choose such, but the buyer found what they were looking for. The shadows are magnificent, though!

Very interesting house, cool shadows

That is an interesting concept. It could be free standing and just the design, but the height of the doorway gives away the idea that it is some sort of incomplete construction. A bit overbuilt perhaps? (Here in Wisconsin USA we have to think of snow loads in winter and roof structures might be that heavy to use girders)
I'll check out the other links you mention.

Peace.

Odd, indeed and rather spooky but it has given you some wonderful shadows, so all is not lost ;-)

It is an odd looking little house but the shadows sure spruce the place up and give it some character! A nice find! Have a great week Gemma!

Thankfully the shadows give this place a little character. But, it makes for an interesting photo. Great find!

the shadows are so bold!
the house is very industrial looking - I wonder what it will look like when it's finished

That house looks very cold...maybe it gets more character when it's ready...

Happy SSS from Casa,
have a great week ahead!

Not sure where this is going but does make for interesting shadows! I would plant beautiful flowering vines and place some seating beneath!

What an interesting house, Gemma. It looks complete but born with missing parts, much like some people, but still functional.
