Fudge
Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A sign at Rosebud, Mornington Peninsula.
I found this quite an odd sign.
The first letter looks more like T than an F for fudge.
The last letter is completely obscured
And the business is in the middle of an industrial area - furniture, computers, heavy machinery.
I can only presume it is a wholesaler supplying retail outlets.
Each time I have been in the area, I have never seen anyone enter or leave.

I know that this is no "happy families" get together
These are your close friends
Bound by time
I am just your
Incidental trophy
Our lute player tinkles Ariel's song
But he plays to closed souls...
Just this once
PLEASE let me join your thoughts...
I am sure you are rattled by
Galileo's increasing
Assertive claims that
Our Earth
Is not the centre of the universe
But the point is
Do you dismiss his claims
In line with our Catholic teachings
Or do you and your friends
Wonder
Could it be
I see you peering at the trembling shaft of moonlight
And one friend follows your gaze
Are you seeking answers
Do you fear what the answer may be
And I am slowly realising that
If the Earth is not the centre of the universe
Then
Neither
Are we
~
NOTE: Galileo Galilei(1564-1642) was an Italian scientist and astronomer who supported Copernicus' heliocentric view, which placed the Sun at the centre of the universe. Philosophers and clerics denounced Galileo to the Roman Inquisition early in 1615.
In February 1616, although he had been cleared of any offence, the Catholic Church nevertheless condemned heliocentrism as "false and contrary to Scripture".
The date on the prompt image seems to fit in with these events.

A Rocking Horse

Monday's Child #47 ~ Picture Prompt
~
Rocking horse
Rocking horse
Sail us away
The time has come
To close our day
Rocking horse
Rocking horse
Fly us to dreams
The stars and moon
Are smiling it seems
Rocking horse
Rocking horse
Hold us tight
Keep us warm in
The darkness of night
Rocking horse
Rocking horse
Don't let them cry
When our Queen Mum
Waves us goodbye
At least you and I know
When midnights flow
It's time to go back
To the palace below
And Mum will be there
With her love and care
And we will all wake
With a new day to share
So rocking horse
Rocking horse
Drift us to sleep
And bring us some angels
Our souls to keep

Word Of The Week: kink

You think you lock me in a sweet romance of flowers.
But the kink in your pantomime spell is your stale breath
syruped with slimey words.
